Although cricket is our business, the club also offers a vibrant social calendar throughout the year, that often has little, if anything to do directly with cricket!  A dedicated group of members comprise the Social Committee who liaise with the Club Manager to make sure that there are always exciting events on the horizon.

These include a number of set piece dinners in the clubhouse during the year (with prominent guest speakers), Race Nights, St Patrick Night, Cricket presentations, Christmas and New Years Eve parties, and any other opportunity to organise a good time for all.

In the last few years our Family Bonfire Night and the Boxing Day charity cricket match have proved our most popular events.

Every week there is the Tuesday night quiz, and Wednesday is dominoes league night.

St Lawrence is a free house, with the bar offering a wide range of products including traditional hand-pulled Tetleys Bitter & Mild, Carlsberg, Carling, Guinness, Worthingtons and draught cider. We also provide a wide range of bottled products and spirits, as well as our house wines and soft drinks, all these are served at reasonable club prices in a friendly atmosphere.

The club can only provide these facilities and events, both social and cricket, if we have a healthy income, and this, unavoidably, includes collecting membership fees. We have a range of membership categories, which are designed to give value for money, whether you are a social user, a cricket fan or player.

We really want you to join us as a member, so simply call into the clubhouse and ask for the Club Manager, or Mark Hopkins (the Membership Secretary), or any Committee Member, and they will gladly and painlessly process your application!
