With the 1st XI having a rest day on Saturday, the 4 other teams in the title race had the opportunity to turn up the heat at the top of the table. East Bierley and Congs did just that with maximum 20 point wins, but Bradford & Bingley and Woodlands both came unstuck - at Yeadon and Cleckheaton respectively.  The net result is that East Bierley lead the table by three points from ourselves, and we are joined on 288 pts by Congs.

The new leaders have played a game more than all the other challengers, and will almost certainly be deposed next Saturday when they don’t have a fixture. St Lawrence occupy 2nd spot because although we have the same number of points as Congs, we have won one more game.

With next Sunday’s crunch match away at Woodlands looming, it is interesting to note that Cleckheaton - who don’t usually threaten the top places - ALWAYS beat Woodlands (or at least they have done 4 times out of 4 in the last two seasons.)  What is their secret, and what can we learn from them?
