We at Pudsey St Lawrence have very good reason to be proud of our club and past achievements on the cricket field.

Our club is known throughout the world as a “breeding ground”  and “finishing school” for an impressive number of County and International cricketers - a number indeed which is far out of proportion to the modest size of the town which is our home.

But we are not a club that is buried in the past.

Today, the club carries on the long established policy of coaching and encouraging youngsters and developing their talent.

Central to the 1st XI squad for 2008, are  James Smith, Gareth Clough, Mark Robertshaw, Chris Marsden and Kasir Maroof, all of which started as juniors with the club and were introduced to first team cricket in their early teens.  Every one of them would now be able to hold their own in most county sides and are the envy of all rival clubs in Yorkshire.
